Inside the movie The Hunger Games, this vicious battle that tributes consider is, indeed, being broadcasted over a live TV show. Ross shows how the mass media that the Capitol utilizes which should “reveal everything” about the districts, is in fact, doesn 't really reflect the truth. The citizens of Capitol do not know the reality of the game, where the tributes possess a different perspective of the game towards Panem, the city of the dictatorship. In fact, the major motivation of The Game is not revealed completely through Capitol’s use of media. In the film alongside of the survival game, unpleasant and boring scenes are restricted to be edited. Effie is one of the Capitol’s resident, representing as a mascot of the District Twelve. Effie appears to be excited with ecstasy, where on the other hand, expressions from the tributes, mirrors the seriousness and appall. When the districts view the clip provided from the Capitol before the “Reaping”, Effie, standing in front of camera, shows full of exhilaration to begin the hunger game, disclosing how honorable it should be for the districts. Over that camera filming Effie’s expression, the audience, which will be the Capitol’s residents at moment, will only view the “good” side of the opening of the hunger game, not the dreadful expressions that the districts really feel about the start of The Game. Due to this impact, citizens from the Capitol are not capable of understanding the struggle that the districts suffers under the influence of the game. Ironically, Panem shows the citizens as if all the districts feel the same as Effie. Depending on what the camera outlines the circumstances of the area, Capitol believes that the districts, too, enjoy engaging in the hunger game, where the districts feels complete opposite. Likewise, mass media of today’s society is depended on the TV as a mean of communication, but veracity of condition is, nevertheless, conceded out in the real world.
