A hero is someone who does the right thing in a tough situation. Joseph Campbell was an American writer who use the idea of monomyth. A monomyth is the general steps that every hero take when they are on a journey. Joseph Campbell was the main drive of this type of writing. He believed that every story had a sequence of actions that were in every story about heros. It described the typical adventure of a hero. Many stories follow Campbell’s way of write in about heros. A very good example of the is the movie The Red Baron. This movie tells about a German pilot’s monomyth. The Red Baron was a German pilot named Manfred Von Richthofen . The start of a hero's journey is the ordinary world. For Manfred it is Germany before WWI. He was a child who was fascinated with airplanes who also was excellent at shooting his father’s rifle. As he gets older his interest of flying increases and leads him into his call to adventure,where he becomes one of the best youth pilots during the war.
