1. In conclusion, I think the “The Road” was overall an amazing book, and it was one of my favorite books. I love particularity how we are left hanging on what happened to the world and how it got to the way it was. It left it open for your interpretation and imagination of what happened to make the world so dull, grey and lifeless. At first, I was a little frustrated because I wanted to know exactly what happened to the earth and how it came to what it was for the man and the boy. Then, as the story went on it was more intriguing for me not to know and to leave it to my imagination. I did not like the simplistic style of writing the story had to it as far as grammar. It seemed like McCarthy was trying not to use so much grammar to show that in this story of a “new world” in a post-apocalyptic setting things like that do not matter anymore. I feel the entire books themes were outstanding and they kept the book and the plot moving along smoothly all the way until the end of the story. The theme of love between the boy and father and how they used their love to overcome so many obstacles is incredible. The whole story would not have happened unless there was an extraordinary love between the boy and the father. The reason the father took his son and traveled south toward the coast was that he wanted a better life for his son. The theme of love between the two also spoke volumes and had a great message that you can take from the story. Even through times of horror and despair you always keep your loved ones your first, and you also be the light in a world full of darkness. I love how the boy and the father are trying to be the "good guys" when they have no reason to be. It shows the goodness of mankind and the willpower to stand up and not be like the rest of the
