Movies and books are different. A lot of the times a movie could be another person's perception of a book they read. It may not be how others read it and that is why it seems different.Other times the story is too rich to capture in 2 hours of a movie so they cut it to make it shorter. In doing so they lose a lot of the richness of the story.I believe that is what happened in the movie the road. It is different from the book in many ways. I believe the book, The Road is better than the movie because the story was different and richer,the story added more details and the characters experienced a lot more life.Most of the time books are better than their movie counterparts. The story was different and richer.The book has a more mysterious point of view of the mother.Where is in the movie it basically out right shows you what happened to her.In the book the son and father have more heart to heart conversations, like about death and how theyt would miss one another and follow them into death.Also in the book the man has flash back of his life before the apocalipse.In the book the man also had a first aid kit.It came fully loaded with suture supplies and he sutures his own leg in the book after he gets shot by the arrow.In the movie he …show more content…

In the book it tells you some of the fathers thought and dreams, like when he is worried for his son and his memories of his life.In the book the cart thief has fingers only on his left hand and he is holding a knife with it. In the movie he is only missing his thumbs and he did not have a knife.The book did a way better description and visual of the bodies then the movie,it also described the smell too.Another thing it described better in the book then in the movie was the landscape it gave more details and put more emphasis on the ash. Books are able to add more detail because they can be as long as needed to finish the story and a lot of the times if the author wants to finish a story he will right a
