In the poem, The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost, he mentions, "Two roads diverged in a wood and I- I took the one less travelled and that has made all the difference." As a young child I have always had the desire to travel the world and leave the comfort of my own country. I wanted to take the road less travelled and experience new and interesting things. Finally, in fifth grade, I was invited on a trip to Dubai with my aunt, uncle, and cousins and my parents were not invited. I would be going alone with my aunt and uncle, which was a scary thought for me, but proved otherwise when I had the adventure of a lifetime. Each night my family and I would go to gourmet restaurants that served delicious food, including grilled pineapple, flatbreads, and curry. Not only was the food delicious, but the restaurants were decorated as elegant as a palace. In addition to going to lots of mouthwatering restaurants, my family and I also went on lots of exciting and exhilarating excursions. For example, on one evening my family and I took a cab out to the desert to an animal reserve and we rode camels out on the sand dunes during sunset. Another example of one of the excursions we went on is going to Atlantis: The Waterpark. Walking around the park was an astonishing experience. I got to enjoy more delicious food, ride incredible rides, and splash around in the clear, Dubai, ocean water. In addition to going on lots of fun excursions, I also got to see the tallest building in the world, the Burj Kalif. It was astounding and looked as if it touched the sky.
