Is Maturity based on age or the things you have experienced? In the coming of age novel ¨Bless me Ultima’’ by Rudolfo Anaya, Antonio is a six year old who was born in a small village of Pastura, New Mexico. Antonio is to choose between whether he will be a vaquero or a priest, and throughout the story he witnesses multiple deaths and things a child should not see. Will they emerge with the same ideals as their father and grandfather? From the educational institutions
People have this belief that maturity is based on the age. However, I conclude that maturity comes from a person’s proficiency. A person can gain the maturity by their lack of intelligence. For example, in the book, “The glass castle”, the author introduced us the character of Jeannette.
Certain events affect a person's well-being and level of thinking in either a positive or negative way. A negative effect on maturity could be losing your family at a young age or getting in a car accident and having permanent brain damage. Some people may think that in order to mature you have to have something bad happen to you in order to learn but that isn't true. Say you're a foster child and you finally find the right home and parents who love you dearly. This would affect you in a positive way showing that there is hope for even the most tragic events in
Maturity does not have an Age To be a kid doesn't mean you cannot do a big change and at the same time mature and fight for your ideas. The novel “The Adventures the Huckleberry Finn” is about a salvage, incredible, and friendly adventure that Huck had with his friend Jim around the Mississippi River looking for Jim’s freedom. The maturity of Huck is related to coming of age because he shows a lot confident for challenging society and fighting for freedom. Huck’s shows he is more mature for his age because he is challenging society “
Who I am is divided into two distinct sections: the shy, reliant child I was before Upward Bound and the confident, independent adult I have become. Upward Bound (UB) is a college preparatory program for low-income, first-generation college students, but its effects go much deeper than that. The workshops during the school year provide opportunities to meet college students in an informal setting where they can be honest about their college experiences. My first year I remember a girl telling me, “The first week I got to college I cried myself to sleep every night,” which was terrifying to hear. It made me dread the summer segment of UB, when I would stay on Ohio University’s campus in Athens for five weeks to take mock college classes.
First some people think that because thay are in their childhoold time thay should be adult soon on order to have more freedom or independent to their families, but I think your are wrong becuase thay would thay chance of enjoying of thier period of life. Most of my friends became friends with the other girls there and I had thought that they were going to become my friends too but instead they weren’t. In order for me to fit in I would have to have a phone, which i didn’t have, have nice clothes, being able to dress nice and go to the classes that they did. I would follow them and try to do most of the things that they would do in order for them to accept me. Well I realized that throughout the two years that I was there that I wasn’t happy.
People with is discussed are unable to grow into full maturity. There boldly may grow about the maturity would be the same as a kid. when a person has this decade, they would hold on to their childhood as they grow up into adulthood, they would look like a man on the outside about boys in the inside. An example of this would be the movie big. The movie is about a 12 year old boy that turns into a 30 year old man.
In reality, however, there is rarely a single, definite period where one can pinpoint the moment maturity
As they go through this stage young people will begin to solve problems more easily and have an appreciation of other people’s views and opinions. However as they are still inexperienced in life a young person may appear immature at times with regards to their ways of thinking and speech. During the Emotional Development stage, a young person will begin to spend less time with their parents and want to spend more time with their friends socialising instead. A young person may also feel conflicted at times, as they will want the affection from parents, however this is usually short lived as the young person will then also reject it when it is given.
This is short of reality, as many students in high school are excited to see fresh new faces, or simply do not care. No need to worry if you 'll encounter your own Regina George when joining high school. 2. Cliques Although there may seem an array of the typical jocks, cheerleaders, nerds etc.,
Jeannette Walls in The Glass Castle and her siblings had a lot of trouble fitting in and trying to avoid being bullied. When Jeannette lived in Welch, West Virginia, as always, her family didn’t have money. Jeannette lived a poor life because of this; she never got the nicest shoes, got the nicest clothes that made her look cool, or be considered the cleanest person in the school since she didn’t take a shower because of the lack or running water in her house. Jeannette often had to eat the leftover food from a trash can that people would throw away because her family couldn’t provide her food. The first girl she met at Welch was Dinitia, and she bullied her because she was poor.
I agree with Sedaris in that I think that as we get older we should adjust faster than when we were younger. However, I still get just as nervous as I did as a young
