Happiness, in my opinion, is the ability to be content without any worries or having to be stressing out about problems. I think, to be happy, you have to enjoy your surroundings and not many people can do that because most people don’t like their surroundings at all. Happiness is loving life at the point that it is at, in that point of time. Discontentment is the exact opposite of happiness. Discontentment, to me, is the feeling of being alone, that you don’t have anyone to talk to or laugh with. It can also be the feeling of grief or sadness, maybe you lost someone and you don’t know how to get over it because it’s too powerful and it hurts too much. Happiness. What does happiness mean to you? When you hear the word, what do you think of? In Fahrenheit 451, people don’t know what happiness is because they’ve never felt it or experienced it. In my opinion, the people of Fahrenheit 451 are not happy at all. They don’t have a choice about barely anything, the government is always making choices for them. Their government determines what they can or can not have, what they can or can not have access to, and what their occupation is. If our government made all the decisions for us, like in Fahrenheit 451, we would be very unhappy but the people of Fahrenheit 451 don’t know what it's like to be unhappy because they don't know how to feel any emotion.
