Throughout history there has been plenty of change in religion, leaders, and types of government. But to come to change, there has to be forces to cause the change. A few of these forces are ideology, inequality, and struggle. Ideology has caused modification of our government. During the 17th century was a time of Enlightenment, which was the creation of new ideas of government, science, and philosophy. The new ideas caused people to think differently. Karl Marx believed in communism, this was the idea that all land is publicly owned, and each person is paid based on their ability and need. His idea of communism would eventually be expressed in the Cold War, when Russia is trying to capture other countries and force them to become communist. Throughout history, humans have combatted society, government, and the environment for change. During the 1780’s, the lower class French citizens were struggling to survive. They did not have good jobs, most of them were poor, flour was expensive, therefore many people were starving. As a result of their struggle, the French Revolution took place. French citizens strongly disagreed about how the royal family was ruling. The lower class had absolutely nothing, they were struggling to survive. While the upper classes had everything they could wish for, they were living with an abundance of food, and money. It upset the lower class that the king and queen had such luxurious items, while they struggled to live. This struggle encouraged the French people to demand change. With the French Revolution, they killed the king and queen, and all the people who got in their way to change.
