Mob mentalities are an immensely powerful thing in the world. Durning the reign of the Nazi’s, mob mentalities were what helped them gain so much power. The one group, the Nazi’s, blamed the Jews for everything that went wrong in Germany. The Nazi’s dehumanized the Jews to make it easier to see that they were better than them and that they were on top. This idea of mob mentality was an especially important idea. It led to the killing of millions of Jews. The idea of mob mentality and people thinking their better than someone else was the reason that the Germans killed the Jews. The movie depicts the crimes the Nazis did on the Jewish people and is set during the Holocaust. In the film we see a bunch of Nazis pick up and force Jewish families out of their houses in a tiny Polish village in the movie's opening scene. The Nazis take advantage of the Jewish people's fear and confusion to take control over the situation. This shows mob mentality because the Nazi’s believe that they are better than the Jewish people, so they change their behavior and make Jewish people leave their houses. Even people who used to be friends are no longer friends just because they are Jewish. Now they think that they are better than them and will not talk to Jewish people anymore. Another example from Schindler's List of how behavior of people when a group of individuals thinks only one way is right is in another scene, a group of Nazi troops open fire on a crowd of Jewish individuals who are gathered in a concentration camp. When they fire, the nazis are smiling and enjoying their power over the Jewish people. This just shows how much power a group of people had over another group of people.
