Prohibition started in 1920 when the manufacturing, sale, brewing, distilling, and transportation of intoxicating liquor was made illegal in the United States under the terms of the 18th Amendment. However, the 18th Amendment was repealed later on. People were taking advantage of alcohol, men were drunk almost everyday, fathers became more abusive to their wives and children, and men couldn't provide for their families. The nation was paying more for alcohol than any other supplies. The United State were forced to go dry.
