The Battle of the Alamo was an important part of the Texas Revolution. The battle lasted 13 days and the siege was led by General Lopez de Santa Anna (nickname “The Napoleon of the West or The Eagle”). The Alamo was a former Spanish religious outpost, but it was converted to a fort by the expelled Mexican army, and it was well equipped to handle attacks by native trbies but not large military armies. The Texians without supplies and lack of man power asked the government for help but was unable to get any due to the fact that the Texian government was in uncertainty.
