It was a four-year long war that involved most of the European countries as well as the United States, Russia, and other regions. The root cause of the World War I was the aggravation of the uneven political and economic development of the imperialist countries, It is a battle for hegemony between imperialist countries, and at a deeper level, it is the product of the development and evolution of a capitalist society where private ownership dominates. It brought huge loss of life and property to the warring parties and the people of all countries in the world. War caused great destruction. During the war, about 16 million people died on the battlefield furthermore lead to epidemics of disease and famine. The World war leading to the end of several empires. The Ottoman Empire ended and lost 4/5 of its territory, leaving only the core part of Turkey.
