Short Story Within the inauspicious sands of the great desert nothing was safe. The sand swallowed up lost lovers, street urchins that had pockets filled with stolen coin, armies lead by blind leaders, and foolish children that strayed to far from home. Merchants seeking riches and missionaries of forgotten gods, all wound up with the same end. Kings of greed and unwavering men all begged for a quicker end. In the desert of sand bursting with great treasure only those who no longer fear death can walk through with a smile and a clean slate. Armies’ regularly dies hear while trying to march through to an enemy’s territory. Instead of dying to them they tend to die to the hands of the sun. He had rugged ashy hair and sapphire eyes. His left leg walks with the slightest limp from an injury so long ago. Bachir’s mind was lost to the though of love. His heart earned for a girl named Victoria. Victoria was a more weathier woman than most merchants. She had Bachir’s heart under lock and key. Nothing would stop his path to be able to afford the ring she deserves. Than his mind of thought was broken by the sound of a man shouting two words. “Sand Storm” The roaring wind caked the men with yellow sand. Camels went blind and stopped all movement. The merchants were forced to sit it out. Expensive silk was swept away with the daggers of sand. Fancy wind fallen on the ground shattering.
