According to “China: The Educated Giant” by Kristof, American government needs to learn from the Chinese education system in order to meet the competition with China. Chinese students usually study hard, because in China the hardest students are considered the best in school. In contrast, mediocrity is acceptable in America schools. Therefore, American students spend too much time watching TV instead of doing homework. Moreover, Chinese government allocates more resources into education compare to American government.
The Chinese civilization from 100 C.E. to 600 C.E. rose as one of the major unified empires. While this society grew, there were aspects of culture and politics stayed the same but many changes also occurred. As the empire developed, family units and social classes remained stagnant. Despite these continuities, changes such as the popularity of Buddhism within society due to Indian missionaries and a shift in political rule occurred. During the time period 100 C.E. to 600 C.E. the family unit system remained intact despite the intellectual advances.
In sixth, seventh and eighth grade, students expand on their knowledge from third to fifth grade. They will study advance meaning and topics related to the self and family. Teachers will connect and describe the relationship each student have with society. Students with learn different types of individuals and their role in society. Expectation after eighth is includes being able to understand moral responsibility and virtuous actions; different types of individuals and their characteristics; how an individual relates to the family and peers; understand the meaning of respect; and begin studying The Analects of Confucius.
Education in Australia and United States are internationally recognised as being of a very high standard. Although both countries follow slightly similar methods of funding, both recognised that their approach is unjust. In Australia, schools (private and public) receive most of the funding from the States, Territories and Commonwealth government (Education Training, 2018). Indeed, the majority of the money comes from the territories and states (approximately three-quarters) goes to public schools whilst the Commonwealth funding goes to private schools (Catholic schools) (Hanrahan, 2017; Boston, 2017).

Did you know that China has one of the best education programs in the world? Why are China’s students so successful? They go to school year round. In fact, the number of year round schools increased 26% in 2007. Traditional schools started 100 years ago.
In the UK, there are five stages of education; Early years, Primary, secondary, further education and higher education. Education is compulsory between the ages of 5 and 18. This used to be 16 but has recently been raised, the options for children aged 16- 18 are; Apprenticeships, remain in full time education e.g. colleges, sixth forms. , work or volunteer (must be 20 hours a week while in training/education) or joined the armed forces.
Year-round schooling can cause students to become more stressed out versus traditional schooling. As we have seen the different pros and cons, I would like to firmly state that public year-round schooling shouldn’t be implemented in our education system. I do not believe in it for our current generation or any future ones. Many students do not need the strict structure of year-round schooling, as they are becoming increasingly smarter. Year-round schooling, like many other ideas, has its pros and cons but can be steadily confirmed as ineffective.
Australia and China are two very different countries with an almost polar opposite government structure, political systems and values. Australia is a constitutional monarchy whereas China is a single communist party state. It is arguable as to which system of government is more effective, considering it is involves other factors like social freedom, the quality of life and the economy. But comparing hand in hand, Australia’s system of government has proven to be more effective in all of these areas. Australia and China have many similarities yet differ greatly in political structure.
Each and everyday we see a new home being built, or a shopping mall opening, or even an apartment complex in the making, but we never think of at what expense all of this is happening. By building all of these new additions we are killing hundred of different species in the process. Humans are cutting down forests, and destroying animal’s habitats. Extinction is one of the most pressing problems we are currently facing today. Each day a new species shows up on the extinction list.
America is a great country with a lot of opportunities and success, but one area that needs development is the education system. There are three applicable changes that can be made so America’s education system can be better and more efficient. America’s education system is moderately outdated; the basic format of the education system was contrived when America was an agricultural society, and so students had to have summers off to help their families work on the farms, but since America has become more of a suburban nation, the need for the average three month summer vacation is obsolete. There are many educational facilities that are suitee for everyone and anyone. Education is a formal and informal placement which is now divided in various stages such as preschool, kindergarten, primary school, secondary school, post-secondary or apprenticeship. These divisions are broken down into many more categories, such as private schools, catholic schools, christian school, or public schools. There are also faithway schools which are broughten by religious organizations such as a church, there are all male and all female schools, and many more other selections brought to individuals in society today where we can all learn (Education System in Canada, 2017). Every Canadian citizen has the right to education to at least pursue a high school diploma, but many individuals living in Canada do not receive the same right as Canadian citizens.
Mamamia also states that “The 2012 Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) measures the numeracy, literacy, and science skills of half a million 15-year-olds around the world… Australia’s ranking fell in all subjects from 15th to 19th in Mathematics, 10th to 16th in Science and 9th to 14th in 2009.” This shows how far we are falling behind other countries, whereas Asian countries like China, Singapore, Korea and Japan are pulling ahead of Australia. Our students of the 21st Century aren’t getting smarter.
There are many types of schools education stages. From the age 0-5 your child can attend pre-school and nursery, including day nurseries. This is mainly where the children can play but also has a small level of education in preparation for school. Children begin a reception class in a primary school from 4-5 which is when compulsory education begins.
Globalization is the process of transformation of the whole world into the global village, and it means that the borders of countries are open to reciprocal integration and connection. All governmental systems in both developed and developing countries were under the influence of various globalization processes. Regarding education, it is considered that developing countries felt significant impact of the globalization processes in the last 40 years. Globalization and education are considered as an intertwined set of global processes affecting education, such as worldwide discourses on human capital such as are lifelong learning, the knowledge economy and technology, English as a global language; multilateral organizations and multinational corporations. Educational discourses generally assign to human capital, lifelong learning for improving job skills, and economic development, because most governments prioritize the developing the human capital to stimulate economic progress.
