Racism is a horrible thing, People get called names, get excluded from activities, and get treated like they are dirt just because of the color of their skin. In the book The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd there endless accounts of senselessness and absurdity of racism to the black community. These accounts happen in the Beginning (Ch. 1-4), Middle (Ch. 5-9), and End (Ch. 10-14) of the book. So basically the whole book is full of racism. This is also absurd because she obviously did nothing. Lily then breaks Rosaleen out of jail and they leave T.Ray to Tiburon, South Carolina where later events will take place. Secondly, in the middle chapters of the book, there was a part where Lily and Zach are working in the Honey House. They start a conversation about what they was to be when they grow older. Lily says she wants to be a writer and Zach says he wants to be a black lawyer. This event can lead to senselessness and absurdity because if Zach ever does become a lawyer, white folk would not want him to defend for them just because of his color. Also if the judge is white and the other lawyer is white, he would then probably pick the white layer no matter what the outcome of the case would be. Another
