So many people have fought with courage for human rights, even after being threatened. The world needs courageous people in order to get voting rights, education, and slavery bans, as readers see in poems and stories. Regardless of the consequences, it's important to be courageous and do the right thing to get rewarded. He told her to drop the whole idea of girls can do what boys can do and as a result Alma was upset and told him she wont be backing down until justice is served. “Alma knew what it cost Arnold to tell her this, but she stood firm. I'm sorry, Arnold, she said, but I'm used to cold weather. In winter I walk to school the same as you so Arnold goes away” (paragraph 29). Alma stood up to Arnold about her beliefs. Demonstrating her courage, even knowing he risked telling her this, she still stood up to Arnold for what she wanted. Later at school, Miss Ralston eventually realizes that Alma was right and lets Alma and Joyce Shipley get the water the next week. Humans can be afraid to stand up for what they want, and to prove that they, too, are good enough. But when people want something in life, they have to work for it to prove their strength. Malala Yousafzai shows people, regardless of the consequences, it's important to be courageous and do the right thing in order to get rewarded. Malala Yousafzai loved education as an Islamic woman. Many threats happened to her, her friends, and other Pakistani kids who wanted education. Malala understood how her courage could impact society. Leading her to decide to speak up and fight for herself, the kids in Pakistan not getting proper education due to poverty, and the girls forced to get married and having kids at a young age instead of pursuing their dream jobs. Malala ended up winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014, rewarding her and other Pakistani kids with proper education.
