Way before the 1500s, there was a very important economic and cultural development in Asia, it was called the Silk Road. Many cultures and countries benefited from the Silk Road.

The Silk Road was not one, but a series of roads. It is thought to have started around 100BC. The Silk Road stretched for over 5,000 miles from Rome, Greece, the Middle East, India and then to China. The Silk Road was significant because it allowed the trading of objects and ideas between civilizations that didn’t have direct contact.
