The four lenses in Liberal Arts are natural science, social science, history, and humanities. Natural science seeks to understand the natural world through observations, hypotheses, and experimentation. Our understanding of natural science can change, is based on our observations of the universe, and is dependent on theories which are the key characteristics of this lens. Some disciplines are astronomy, chemistry, biology, and physics. Types of evidence in this lens are studies, randomized control trials (RCTs), experiments, and observations. Historians use evidence from various sources, such as primary and secondary sources. Studying history allows humanity to learn from its mistakes, educates us about the past, and understand society back then, which are the characteristics of this lens. Historians use evidence closely related to an event or person in the past, such as biographies, diaries, and other written evidence. Humanities is the study of human works and actions. Some disciplines of humanities are language studies, history, and philosophy. Having a perspective and understanding of human works are key characteristics of the humanities lens. There are a few similarities and differences between each lens. Social science and natural science are alike because both utilize the scientific method. They are different because social science uses different types of evidence. History and social science are similar since social science allows us to understand the actions of humans in the past. From a natural science position, I want to recognize how science can devise ways to slow climate change. Additionally, I want to figure out how to reduce emissions from industrial sources. Keywords could be carbon emissions, climate change, and industrial. How can we educate people about climate change and clarify misinformation? From the social science lens, I want to know how we can appropriately teach people about climate change and highlight misinformation about the subject. At which point of industrialization did climate change start to occur? Did people back then already know of industrialization’s negative effect on the environment? I am trying to understand from a historical standpoint the history of humanity’s influence on climate
