The book is held in the future in a country like the United States, there are 12 districts and a capitol Panem. The games are played every year and people from the 12 districts get chosen or volunteer to go to the games. The main character from the book is Katniss Everdeen and she has to volunteer in place of her sister to go to the games. The book has major themes such as romance, trust, and hope.
