The Simulated Faith of Jonas and Langston
The preacher, Jonas came up with an idea on how to generate money. He worked with other people to form a fake ministry team and entertain faith-goers in closure worships. A situated plot of the movie Leaf of Faith was focused on the main character which revealed his compelling personality as a preacher on how he would convince the faith-goers to attend revival meeting. His tactics somehow overturn that many faith-goers who wanted a miracle patronized his acts. While the short story "Salvation" was centered on his stimulated faith. He performed up on the stage and express exaggerated words to convey its crowd in order to gain a lot of donations. He played certain tricks to lure people and allowed them to believe that he was a true faith healer. His physical expression's conveyed to the faith-goers into a reality scene, in which they believed he was true minister and genuine preacher. Despite certain issues and criticism on him, he still continued to get his job done. Unfortunately, one of the prosecutors during the night worship at the tent was the sheriff. The sheriff vulgarly announced an unpleasant statement about Jonas the preacher's personal background. He later depends in front of the crowd by exaggerating using the words of God. He was once told by his Aunt that if he saw the light it means it was a sign that he will be saved. A young boy around his age of twelve innocently observed what was happening at the revival meeting. He wasn’t sure if his faith was intact or is he was going with the flow inside of the revival meeting. His compassion towards the worship just wasn’t there. In fact, he was pretending that he felt the presence of the Lord so that he would not be in trouble. He intentionally lied to himself and showed particularly his presence at the revival meeting that he was touched by the Lord just to escape the certain consequences that he thought would happen to him.
