Malala has always stood up for her rights and spoke out if something was unjust but when she stood up to the Taliban they tried to take her voice away. The Taliban thought violence would take away her strength, but they were wrong. Malala was in the hospital for weeks and it took a long time for her to recover but once she did her voice became even louder than before. Malala was getting tons of attention and this caused her to become more well-known, and even more people got the chance to hear what she had to say. Malala gives a famous speech on Malala Day, “Today is the day of every women, every boy, and every girl who has raised their voices for their rights. Thousands of people have been killed by terrorists, and millions have been injured. I am just one of them.” (Malala.191) Malala does not use her voice to speak for herself but to speak for everyone.
