The play “Slow dance on the killing ground” reveals the character 's inner sleeve. The side of them they kept from one another as means of acceptance. Personally, if the characters revealed themselves prior to to the relationship they build amongst one another, not only it would have affected their interactions, but it would have also tempered with our views of them. The secretiveness of the characters is a great phenomenon that was effective in how the message came across. In the play the writer, William Hanley used three main characters.
In the novel, The Watsons go to Birmingham by Christopher Paul, Kenny wonders why his brother Byron is so mean to people. Does Kenny treat others better than Byron does? On the first day Rufus was at school Kenny shares his food with him because he does not have a lunch, then he told mama that he is sharing and then his mom packs more food for Rufus and Punkin. When Kenny was younger, he had a friend named L.J. and that had play dates and when ever L.J. came after he took some of Kennys toys and he did not tell on him because he is nice. Larry Dunn stole Kenny's gloves out of his bag at school than when he went home he told Byron and Byron was not happy with that
In the 1950’s through the 1960’s if one was an African-American one would have to walk three to four miles in the scorching heat to go to their all black school. Jim Crow laws were designed to segregate African-Americans and whites. Before, May 17.1954, the court would use the phrase “separate but equal” to justify excluding blacks from white facilities and services. In one Supreme Court case called Brown vs. the Board of Education of Topeka, the Chief Justice and the other eight Associate Justices on the Supreme Court ruled that all U.S. schools had to integrate. Some schools integrated while other schools did not.

‘Be Music, Night’ by Kenneth Patchen is an intriguing piece of literary art. A picture is painted of human interaction with Earth immediately. The manner in which humans fall into her beauty and vastness is apparent in even the first lines of Patchen’s poem, but why is this important? “Be music, night, That her sleep may go Where angels have their pale tall choirs” This choir is brought on by our musical mother nature.
The Liberal Pauli Murray Pauli Murray led an impressive life and left behind a legacy of peaceful civil rights protests, many legal writings, and an admirable dedication to her religion and parishes. I became acquainted with Pauli Murray through her memoir Song in a Weary Throat: An American Pilgrimage, which was a very intriguing read. The memoir addressed the issues she felt were important, primarily the two most important aspects of her identity: her race and gender.
Addiction to substances such as alcohol often leads to depressive mental states and the destruction of any sound relationships. ‘The water was dark and went forever down’ is a 1987 short story written by time Winton which explores the journey of a young Australian girl with a mentally ill mother. A 14-year-old Australian girl who is referred to as ‘the girl’ has traveled to a beachside cottage on holiday with her mentally ill mother. The girl is forced to be independent as her mother’s addiction to alcohol has disabled her from properly caring for her daughter. The girl seeks refuge in swimming which lets her avoid the mental battles posed by her home life.
Division During the Fight For Equality Throughout history, we have always experienced white supremacy. Whether is was through the disgusting acts of slavery or the saying, separate but equal. No one had ever truly challenged this way of thinking in America until 1955. The Civil Rights Movement was extremely successful, although it did have some of its own sources of conflict.

The analogy begins to take shape as the commencing pages describe a tight roper’s act high above the streets of New York. The crowd gathered are torn at the sight of what’s above their heads. They wonder if the figure atop of the towering building close to falling, willing to embrace death? Might he fall not on purpose?
In the book The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay, Peekay witnesses magical coincidences that were larger than life. In this section, Peekay comes home to find that Doc has been sick with a bad case of pneumonia. His pneumonia gets progressively worse until, sadly, Doc dies. After Doc’s funeral Peekay goes to the crystal caves that he and Doc had found several chapters earlier. Doc seemed to really have a connection to this cave and felt that it represented the beauty of Africa and its music.
In Jason Reynolds, fictional novel entitled Long Way Down, he argues that the cycle of violence can be stopped by doing things right instead of taking revenge on someone. He conveys this idea through symbolism, irony, and characterization. Reynold’s purpose is to teach young adults to stop the consequences of the cycle of violence. He establishes a serious tone for you adults. The book uses symbolism to convey the theme.
The mistreatment of Indigenous people in Canada is a leading factor in the loss of their identity; a tragic consequence of colonialism and systemic injustice. “Totem” by Thomas King, an American-born novelist and member of the Order of Canada, conveys the message of the mistreatment of Indigenous peoples by the government with the use of various literary elements. King voices his opinions about the government’s terrible and shallow decisions they make and solutions they come up with. Comparatively, “I lost my talk” by Rita Joe, a Mi'kmaw poet and member of the Order of Canada, also speaks of the tragedies that the Indigenous peoples have faced, but through a more personal lens where she talks about her experiences as a former student of Shubenacadie Indian Residential School. Arcite and Palamon are the main characters in “The Knight’s Tale” and they both play very important parts in the story. These two men have similar traits but different personalities and methods for accomplishing tasks. Arcite and Palamon are cousins, who are so close, that they consider themselves, and even swear an oath stating that they are brothers. Their brotherly pact, as strong as it may seem, is still helpless against the powers of love. In “The Knight 's Tale”, similarities and differences between Arcite and Palamon are evident when they fall in love with the same person, how they behave after they leave prison, and what they pray for and how the prayers are answered.
In the short story “Red Cranes”, by Jacey Choy, the author describes Mie as a young girl who has big dreams. Choy describes Mie’s feelings about her father hearing some red cranes and was very upset that her father had not woke her up. In the short story “The Firefly Hunt”, by Jun’ichiro Tanizaki, the author describes Sachiko as a young girl who is determined to accomplish things no matter what it took. Tanizaki describes Sachiko’s excitement about finding fireflies.
Introduction Freudian slip theory was originally created by Sigmund Freud. He was an Austrian neurologist and was better known as the founder of psychoanalysis (1856-1939). Psychoanalysis can be defined as a set of psychological theories which includes the Freudian slip theory. He believed that everyone possess an unconscious mind, feelings, desires and memories in their lifetime. It is to be said that peoples will bring their unconscious content on their mind to their conscious awareness and people will be able to experience catharsis and gain insight into their current state of mind.
