Determination does not have an off-season. The “Other Side of the Sky”, “The Song of the Wandering Aengus”, and Barrio Boy all show their path of determination that drove them to succeed their missions. In “The Other Side of the Sky”, Farah Ahmedi is determined to get her mother out of Afghanistan, for their safety. In “The Song of the Wandering Aengus”, Aengus was determined after he saw a beautiful woman. In Barrio Boy, Ernesto is determined to learn English by his teacher beauty. The first text is a true story called Barrio Boy, Ernesto is learning the English language with Miss. Ryan his first grade teacher, but slowly he starts to feel comfortable with her. As in the text he states, “It was as if in that closet we were both discovering together the secrets of the English language and grieving together over the tragedies of Bo-Peep.” (Galarza 14). Aengus fished out a silver trout, “Aengus” a beautiful glimmering girl was calling his name. He was drawn to her beauty. As she faded into the forest he knew he would find her again. As he explains, “Though I am old and wandering through hollow lands and hilly lands. I will find out where she has gone.” (Yeats 17, 18, 19). He will not give up.
