The novel “The Spook Who Sat by the Door” has the main protagonist Dan Freeman who actually does not differ far from the protagonist Dr. Belsidus of the “Black Empire” in his ideology of rebellion against the oppressing white man. Freeman was also an African American who had the belief that action was not just an option but rather necessity in order to unshackle his peoples, his race, as they are in danger of being exploited as a race of hoodlum’s.
