There are many different types of conflict. Conflict typically occurs after the problem in stories and in real life situations. “The Story of an Hour” by Kate Chopin is a very complex short story with many conflicts that appeal to all of our different emotions. The main character Mrs.Mallard is going through so many mixed emotions and she really does not know what she wants or how she wants to feel. She thinks she wants one thing but then in the end it is something else that she was expecting. In “The Story of an Hour”, Mrs.Mallard struggles with other characters, the supernatural, and herself. Mrs.Mallard struggles with other characters throughout the short story. The main person that Mrs.mallard is struggling with is her husband Mr.Mallard.
