The stranger a novel written in 1942 by Albert Camus. This is a great work of fiction. At the start of the novel we see that Heat is one of the main aspect of the novel and how due to intense heat Meursault commits murder and how dizzying heat encounters him during his mother’s death. When we go ahead in the novel we see that the glare shows the importance of physical experience over the mental analysis ; Reflecting off the Arabs knife on the beach before Meursault shoots him and the funeral , swimming and then made love with Marie these all come as a sensory experiences and of course Meursault isn’t directly aware about any of it as Albert’s basic point view said that only real things are those which we can experience physically thus Meursault killed the Arab due to his response to sun which beats upon him. Heat and sun being the theme throughout the entire story. The sun is main symbol as where it first creates problem in Meursault’s mother’s funeral and even before the procession he remarks the sun by calling it “inhuman and oppressive”. For him the sun is the most influence on his all senses. Meursault keeps on thinking about sweat as if when someone else would think about their mother and expect them to cry. When Meursault is at the beach the sun provokes him to commit a crime which is he kills an Arab. Where here Arab uses a knife to shine the sunlight to Meursault’s face.
