This month I have read a book called the sun also rises which was written by Ernest Hemingway. I have learned something from this book. Firstly, i think the hero in this book is a tough man. His name is Jacob Barnes. He got involved in the first world war in 1918 and the war made him injured. His reproductive organ was damaged for which he lost the ability of sex in this war and this is the most important reason that he cannot be together with his beloved woman. This war caused the deep hurt not only to his physical body but also to his inner heart. But he is still a tough and brave man that he loves Brett deeply. Although they both love each other, they still don’t marry. I think Barnes is a good man. He knows that he hasn’t the ability of sex and he cannot give the woman that he loved happiness, so he can give up the chance to be together with this woman. It causes destroy not only our physical body but also our inner heart. In this book, the hero Barnes cannot be together with the heroine Brett, in my opinion, the most important reason is the war. The war makes this bad result. Meanwhile, the war also brings some change in economy, culture and people’s minds. People want to be more free and their own happy life like Brett. As far as I am concerned, the reason why this book called the sun also rises is that the hero experienced so many difficulties but he still never gives in. After so much pain in life, he still have an optimistic attitude towards life. Therefore, in our daily life, we should also be optimistic and have an active attitude to life no matter what difficulty we meet. Just like this hero in this book, never give up, never give in forever! This is the real thing what Ernest Hemingway wants to tell us. We should just remember, no matter what happens, the sun also
