The Sun Also Rises is a novel written by American author Ernest Hemingway in 1926. This book was actually talk about the love between a group of people who got great hurt from emotion or body . We call them " The Lost Generation " . It especially describe Robert Cohn and Jake Barns. Robert Cohn was a totally loser in this novel . And I think Jake barns was pretty sadness , but he is very strong. At the beginning of this book, Robert Cohn is a people who seems like success. He was born in a very rich Jewish family. , and he graduation at a famous university - Princeton University. And because of he used to be a boxing champion, so his body is very strong. She didn't like Cohn too much but he though she was love him. So he was very mad when he saw Brett and Pedro Romero were in the bed. It seems the bull-fighter fellow was sitting on the bed. He'd been knocked down about fifteen times, and he wanted to fight some more. Brett held him and wouldn't let him get up. He was weak, but Brett couldn't hold him, and he got up. Then Cohn said he wouldn't hit him again. Said he couldn't do it. Said it would be wicked. So the bull-fighter chap sort of rather staggered over to him. Cohn went back against the wall. This sentence show how Romero' tough and Cohn' ugly. Cohn can't beat a person who was really strong. He is totally loser. in this time. So he was left at the second day. Because he finally understand, the bull-fighter beat him. I think the reason why Ernest Hemingway wrote this character is he want to show what "The Lost Generation" is. In nowadays, people would think Jake was the lost generation, and Cohn is normal person. Because the war charged everyone in that period. The people who have the war experience were all getting lost.
