Without, further ado let’s analyze Edgar Allan Poe’s writing The Tell-Tale Heart. The first horror genre element I noticed in his writing was an internal source of horror.
A sick thought can devour the mind and body like a silent fever and just when you realize you have it will be too late. Edgar Allan Poe has written many great pieces of literature in his life time. There is one text that stroke a cord with me, because of the way Poe illustrates the narrator’s madness. In his story Tell-tale Heart, the narrator kills an old man because of his eye. The narrator is mentally ill because he was able to tell the story so calmly, he only killed the old man to get rid of his eye, also he stalked the old man till he felt like the right time to kill him.
Crazy. In all of Edgar Allen Poe’s’ short stories there is a lesson to be learned and if I had to pick one to be my a favorite I couldn’t because they are all amazing in there own ways and all the stories each character does almost the same thing in a different way and has a way to cope weather they feel bad about what they did or not. In the short story Tell-Tale Heart the main character has an elderly neighbor with one eye and the madman hated the eye not the old man but he wanted to kill the poor old man because of his one eye so one night after a week on waiting he went to kill the old man, after the deed had been done the police had shown up and were convinced that nothing had happen there when the madman suddenly felt like he was going
I thought about doing research on kids that have died about something they read or heard .Why do we have to read this story? It tells us how to do anything .Tell -Tale Heart is a story written by Edgar Allen Poe. Poe tells us that the old man that he stays with and he loved him but he couldn’t stand his pale blue eye.
Do you think a classic horror story is appropriate for my age group to read?It is in my opinion,but others think it is not age appropriate. I’m going to speak on my opinion and give reasons for why i think that this text is age appropriate and i’m going to speak on why others think it is not age appropriate. The Tell -Tale Heart is a great story for kids my age,because most children like mysteries,and suspense.it gets them thinking,and it gets them to read more stories like this. Also,this story is age appropriate ,because this story is written in a way so kids my age can read and understand it. If the book was not age appropriate it would not be read in schools.
“I've heard many things in the heaven and in the earth. I've heard many things in hell”(Poe). In the story The tell tale heart, a man ends up killing his old man over his “Vulture eye”. He loved the old man. But his “evil eye” vexed him and he decided to take his life.
“He saw that he was stone dead. His eye would be trouble no more.” (page 385, Poe) In the horror story “A Tell-Tale Heart,” by Edgar Allan Poe, it revolves around a first-person view of an unnamed narrator. He elaborates on killing an old man for the reason of him having an “eye of a vulture.”

Rationale: For this task, I created a diary because I think that this style of writing would be an extremely effective way to show another major character’s emotions and ideas, as it can be written from a first person perspective, giving a huge amount of insight. I based my task on a short story by Edgar Allen Poe, titled “The Tell-Tale Heart.” I chose this piece as it gives the opportunity to be very creative in my writing, but also introduces various constraints, such as writing in a similar style to Poe, and trying to avoid any plot holes. This task specifically relates to part 4 of the language and literature course, being; literature, as the stimulus text is a piece of literature, as is my piece of writing.

Gothic Elements in the “The Tell Tale Heart” The classic short story of “The Tell-Tale Heart”, written by one of the all time masters of horror, Edgar Allen Poe, has always been used as an excellent example of Gothic fiction. Edgar Allen Poe specialized in the art of gothic writing and wrote many stories that portrayed disturbing events and delved deeply into the minds of its characters. In "The Tell-Tale Heart," Poe revolves the plot around a raving individual who, insisting that he is sane, murders an old man because of his` “vulture eye”. His psychological complexity and his narrative technique immediately captivates the audience attention who ‘struggles’ to come to some conclusion about the narrator’s state of mind. The narrator’s psychological instability is visible through the tone, the syntax and the constant alleviation between sanity and insanity.

The Tell-Tale Heart was one of Poe’s famous short stories and it was first published on the 1843. The Tell-Tale Heart is generally considered as a classic of the Gothic fiction genre. If The Tell-Tale Heart was a song, it would be such a painful song to be listened to.
