Without, further ado let’s analyze Edgar Allan Poe’s writing The Tell-Tale Heart. The first horror genre element I noticed in his writing was an internal source of horror.
my argument is that yes they should teach the tell tale heart to 8th graders.so here are some of my reasons to why I think that they should teach the tell tale heart. so here are my reasons .isay we should teach the tell tal heart because 8th grade like the genra horror .also because the tell tale heart makes for a good debate during class i know this because my class and other classes had a good debate. here are some reasons why some people might say that it should not be taught.first b ecause it is about horror and it has fowl language (line 99 ) .they also might say it because it is about a person who kills someone becasue of the persons eye .
A sick thought can devour the mind and body like a silent fever and just when you realize you have it will be too late. Edgar Allan Poe has written many great pieces of literature in his life time. There is one text that stroke a cord with me, because of the way Poe illustrates the narrator’s madness. In his story Tell-tale Heart, the narrator kills an old man because of his eye. The narrator is mentally ill because he was able to tell the story so calmly, he only killed the old man to get rid of his eye, also he stalked the old man till he felt like the right time to kill him.
Crazy. In all of Edgar Allen Poe’s’ short stories there is a lesson to be learned and if I had to pick one to be my a favorite I couldn’t because they are all amazing in there own ways and all the stories each character does almost the same thing in a different way and has a way to cope weather they feel bad about what they did or not. In the short story Tell-Tale Heart the main character has an elderly neighbor with one eye and the madman hated the eye not the old man but he wanted to kill the poor old man because of his one eye so one night after a week on waiting he went to kill the old man, after the deed had been done the police had shown up and were convinced that nothing had happen there when the madman suddenly felt like he was going
I thought about doing research on kids that have died about something they read or heard .Why do we have to read this story? It tells us how to do anything .Tell -Tale Heart is a story written by Edgar Allen Poe. Poe tells us that the old man that he stays with and he loved him but he couldn’t stand his pale blue eye.
Gothic Literature Essay In short stories and novels there are many gothic elements that are either very nasty or violent. In Riggs novel “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children” there’s multiple different types of gothic elements. That goes the same for the two short stories by Poe, “Black Cat” and “Masque of the Red Death”, as well as the story “Feather Pillow” by Horacio Quiroga. Through all these short stories, one gothic element stands out more than the others.
In this assignment I will be comparing and contrasting The Tell Tale Heart, written by Edgar Allen Poe and The Cold Embrace written by Mary E. Braddon. These two horror stories share similarities, however they also have their differences. One of the main differences in these stories is the technique the author chooses to open the story, which creates a certain tone for the two stories. In our case, both stories open with the main character giving a message to the reader of their life.
“I've heard many things in the heaven and in the earth. I've heard many things in hell”(Poe). In the story The tell tale heart, a man ends up killing his old man over his “Vulture eye”. He loved the old man. But his “evil eye” vexed him and he decided to take his life.

In each story, there are characteristics that distinguish gothic literature. “The Black Cat” and “The Masque of the Red Death”, both written by Edgar Allen Poe, are examples of gothic horror literature because they include characteristics such as highly charged emotional states, unexplainable occurrences, and isolated locations.
Rationale: For this task, I created a diary because I think that this style of writing would be an extremely effective way to show another major character’s emotions and ideas, as it can be written from a first person perspective, giving a huge amount of insight. I based my task on a short story by Edgar Allen Poe, titled “The Tell-Tale Heart.” I chose this piece as it gives the opportunity to be very creative in my writing, but also introduces various constraints, such as writing in a similar style to Poe, and trying to avoid any plot holes. This task specifically relates to part 4 of the language and literature course, being; literature, as the stimulus text is a piece of literature, as is my piece of writing.

In "The Tell-Tale Heart," Poe revolves the plot around a raving individual who, insisting that he is sane, murders an old man because of his` “vulture eye”. The three main gothic elements that are evident in this story are the unique setting, the theme of death and decay, and the presence of madness.
The Tell-Tale Heart: Analysis Poe is best known as the author of horror and suspense. The dark- gothic element that surrounds his stories is enhanced even more with the appearance of multi-complex personalities which ‘move between the edge’ of normal and abnormal. One of his characters that represent this notion is the narrator and main character of his well-known story the “Tell-Tale Heart”. His psychological complexity and his narrative technique immediately captivates the audience attention who ‘struggles’ to come to some conclusion about the narrator’s state of mind. The narrator’s psychological instability is visible through the tone, the syntax and the constant alleviation between sanity and insanity.

For hundred of years, adults and children alike have been intrigued by Edgar Allan Poe’s stories. Many of Poe’s works differ from one another especially, “William Wilson” and “The Tell-Tale Heart”. Although it may seem like there are more similarities between the two works, their differences are much more significant. “William Wilson” and “The Tell-Tale Heart s”’most of the tremendous differences are found within characters, conflicts, and themes.

If The Tell-Tale Heart was a song, it would be such a painful song to be listened to.
