In dreary Salem’s Lot, unimaginable evil is descending on the town’s inhabitants. Following the defeat of the vampire himself, ben uses a magic wand to escape the palace. A common theme in Salem’s Lot is good vs. evil. This theme is translated into a conflict between Ben Mears and Kurt Barlow. Barlow is a stunningly wicked creature. He is a violently cunning and stately man who always seems to be one step ahead and upon entering the musty Marsten house, the vampire hunters are met with a taunting and satirical note ☺ demonstrating the demeanor of this intellect. I have to admit that Salem’s Lot started incredibly drearily, and I had half a mind to stop reading it altogether. However, once the plot began to escalate and make sense, I found
