In the Mary Shelley novel Frankenstein is made to be a gothic horror story. She developed a character named Victor he liked science and had an ambition to create the “ perfect human” in his eyes but as you will see stuff doesn't always go as planned. Abandoned, Revenge and Vengeance, and guilt and regret could be the three characteristics developed through the actions and words of Victor. Although he had good intentions Victor Frankenstein becomes distressed and deranged and as a result of this he forgets and leaves behind his creation. In the first quote the character states “I will confide this tale of misery and terror to you the day after our marriage shall take place, for, my sweet cousin, there must be perfect confidence between us.” After Victor destroyed his experiment for a second counterpart this made the monster go into a fit of rage and curse Victor on his wedding day if the monster couldn’t be happy nobody can this made him seek out revenge and vengeance on Victor after he got married. Another quote could be “I gazed on my victim, and my heart swelled with exultation and hellish triumph; my enemy is not invulnerable; this death will carry despair to him, and a thousand other miseries shall torment and destroy him.” This shows that the monster is trying to get his revenge on Victor in which a way that will tear him apart so this shows him getting his revenge on Victor by killing Elizabeth he wanted Victor to feel the way he felt. “My destruction might indeed arrive a few months sooner, but if my torturer should suspect that I postponed it, influenced by his menaces, he would surely find other and perhaps more dreadful means of revenge.” After everything that had went on Victor still seeked revenge on the monster for what he had did he had to let it go so that nobody else would get hurt nomore.
