On the 10th of April 1912 one of the world’s most tragic disasters was about to happen when the Titanic one of the biggest ships of its time started on its maiden voyage. The ship was deemed unsinkable because of its compartments in the bottom of the ship could stop the water from spreading through the ship.

The Titanic was built by white star line when they were in a massive competitive faze with Cunard for the transatlantic market. The Titanic had a massive double hull and waterproof compartments that can be opened one by one or at the same time.

Somehow straight away a problem occurred when the Titanic was near to colliding with smaller ship The New York. 2,240 people left Southampton that day not knowing that a disaster as big as what happened that day was even possible.
