Truffles is feeling terrible about his last two positions, when he runs into Scapino, who is in a great hurry. Scapino explains that he needs to leave Venice very quickly (for some strange reason involving a bet and a donkey) and has decided to travel to the Turkish Empire. He explains to Truffles that there are many servant jobs that pay extremely well, and include the most delicious delicacies as servants are fed to their heart’s contents. That is all that is needed to be said, and two friends set out on a journey. The scene changes to the Turkish empire as the two friends part ways. There is no time to escape and Truffles does not know what to do. One of the harem girls says … “Do not worry, we have a plan”. They take Truffles behind a screen as he says “What are you doing? What’s going on? You’ve got to be kidding” The reveal the now disguised Truffles who is dressed up as one of them, veil and all. Again, Truffles plays hard-to-get, which angers Babaganuch. The guards quickly shove Truffles into the arms of the Sultan and he reluctantly dances. Truffles tries many ways to get away from the leering Sultan: sneaking under his arms, spinning him away and dipping him causing the Sultan to fall on the floor. “Playing hard to get … no one has ever done this to the Sultan … I like it” The dance gets crazy as Truffles begins to dance with the two servants. Now everyone is dancing: servants, harem girls, Truffles and Babaganuch. Silvio storms into the chamber and, thinking Truffles is Isabella, demands that Babaganuch get his hand off his fiancée. Silvio grabs Truffles by the arm as Babaganuch holds onto the other as they each pull Truffles arms back and forth in a tug-a-war match, fighting for their love. The commotion builds as Isabella comes out of hiding and says that she is the real bride. The two men, seeing the real Isabella, stop fighting over Truffles. Silvio runs to Isabella as they share a warm embrace and confesses the most beautiful deviation of love. Isabella also proclaims her love for Silvio. Their display of love and devotion touches Babaganuch’s heart. He sheds a tear saying he’s never seen anything more touching or romantic in all his life.
