In addition to encouraging the girls’ superiority, Miss Brodie’s fascist-like teachings offers her unrestricted power to justify her actions past moral boundaries. Similar to the totalitarian dictator of a fascist state, Miss Brodie created a setting as an undisputed leader where she was able to exert such power on the Brodie set that “all the time [the Brodie set] were under her influence she and her actions were outside the context of right and wrong” (91).
