In “The Treasure of Lemon Brown” by Walter Dean Myers, Lemon Brown is brave. Lemon Brown can stand up for himself. “ Don't try nothin, cause I got a razor here sharp enough to cut a week into nine days!” (page 732). Lemon Brown lives in an abandoned house that anyone can go in. Lemon Brown lets others be safe. “Then Lemon Brown released his hand and moved toward the top of the stairs.”(page 736). He is brave because he let Greg go up the stairs first so he would be safer. Lemon Brown is brave because he can help himself. “As Greg howled, the light moved away from Lemon Brown, but not before he saw Lemon Brown hurl his body down the stairs as the men tried to take his treasure.” (page 736). Greg saw Lemon Brown protect himself from the thugs.
