The evening of May 4th 2001, Bonny Lee Bakley was sitting in her vehicle waiting for her husband when she was fatally shot. The primary suspect was her husband, Robert Blake. Robert Blake was well known in Hollywood for his acting career. Bonny Bakley had been married to Robert Blake for about 6 months. However, several sources discussed that their relationship seemed to be a rocky one, since Bonny was known to be a manipulative gold-digger and was suspected of trapping Blake into marrying her by having his child. Blake’s defense team used Bakley’s questionable character to make the jurors believe Blake was merely one of the many men that Bakley tried to take advantage of and that there were many men who had a motive to kill her.

The Walther P-38 was found coated in dirt along with unknown oil matter. They couldn’t recover fingerprints from the weapon nor could they make out the serial number because it had been filed down.
