George Orwell, whose real name was Eric Arthur Blair, was born in India in 1903 and died in London in 1950. Orwell didn’t start writing books because he wanted to, but rather because he felt compelled to. That is why he wrote animal farm, because he had to make people aware of the true nature of communism and dictatorship. Animal Farm is a book about how communism and dictatorship begin and how they remain in control. Orwell wrote this book as a satirical allegory to the Russian revolution. This analysis will also focus on how the characters in Animal Farm comperes to important figures and people from the Russian revolution.
All the animal on Manor farm are gather in the barn listening to Old Major. He is an 11-year-old boar and he is telling them about a dream he had were the animals were in control of the farm and were there were no humans to oppress them. Old major dies and the pigs Napoleon, Squealer and Snowball came up with the main principle of what they call Animalism. One night the animals finally had enough of Mr. Jones, who was their drunken farmer, and chased him away. They rename the farm Animal Farm.
At first the farm is doing well, but after some time that starts to change for the worst. The pigs take more and more control and are taking a bigger share than the rest of the animals.
