On a daily basis in the courtrooms across the world a person’s life is being determined to be set free, incarcerated for years, life or sometimes even sentenced to the death penalty. Not everyone receives fair justice, Some are unfairly punished for a crime they have never even committed, innocent people are put in jails just because of their gender, ethnicity, race, or even personal beliefs. In her book Devil's Knot The True Story of the West Memphis Three, Mara Leveritt describes actual details how the three children of West Memphis, Arkansas went missing and a day later were found brutally murdered near a canal. Jerry Drives also stated that he saw Damien, Jason, and Jessie together in a previous occasion. These witnesses' statements led the police to believe that Jessie Misskelley as well contributed to the crime so they weren’t able to get any information out of Damien or Jason so they thought maybe Jessie Misskelley would answer some questions for them so they brought him in the police station for questioning. First, Jessie said that the boys were not at school when they had attended school that day. Also, Jessie said that they had tied up the boys with rope when they had been tied up with shoelaces. If he had been a part of this crime wouldnt he have remembered how he tied them up? Just many of the things were not adding up the time of the crime first Jessie had said that it occurred from 9:00am-12:00pm then in another interrogation he changed it from 5:00pm-6:00pm then he changed the times one more time from 7:00pm-8:00pm the times were not again matching with the real time
