Picture Books
1. Just because some books have illustration doesn’t mean they are consider as a picture book.
2. The picture in the books are just as important as the text in the book.
3. Older student also love reading picture books. There are picture books for older student that isn’t meant for younger one.
4. When reading aloud, teacher have to show the picture to the student while they heard the word.
5. Some book doesn’t have any text so that the message of the story can be seen.

Genres of Literature
1. Two major category that most book first being divided into: fiction, and nonfiction.

the most prestigious award an author of a picture book can get is the Caldecott Award.

3. The Caldecott Medal website list thousands of award winning picture books that are great to read.

1. Pinkney love the fable and he want to have a take on his version of the most favorite fable.

2. Another thing Pinkney really like about the story is that he get to use the setting of the story to create more supporting characters surrounding the main characters.

3. He never meant to draw a wordless picture book however, by the time he finished drawing the pictures, he found out he actually told the story without any words.

4. He believe that sounds help bring the picture to life so he added in lots of sounds where it is needed.

5. The Lion and the Mouse is his first wordless picture book he created.

My Response: Jerry Pinkney shows that to have willingness to learn, the support and encouragement from others can make a big difference in a child. He was able to graduate and now became a successful author.
My Response: I can tell that Pinkney really love drawing. It is his passion and even to this day, he can never forgets the excitement when he hold a pencil and draw the things from his
