As Mohandas Gandhi states, “Many people, especially ignorant people, want to punish you for speaking the truth, for being correct, for being you. Never apologize for being correct, or being years ahead of your time. If you are right and you know it, speak your mind. Speak your mind if you are a minority of one. The truth is still the truth.” What does the truth really mean? Should people attempt to tell the truth constantly due to be “a good person’’? The more people try to discover a universal definition of this word- the more they get confused, as they learn the meaning from different people around. Correspondence theory of truth is if the truth reflects the reality. For instance, if somebody says, “It is raining” only being outside proofs this statement. So it means that only reality can be considered as true. However, what do people measure as reality? Some assume that it is something that really exists and not the product of people’s imagination. Coherence theory of truth is the truth, which relates to other actions; nevertheless, it is not important if it reflects reality or not. One such example is a person hears a pen falling to the ground, also, another person hears the same and a pen is not on the table. Consequently, three observations proof that a pen fall down. According to this theory, can people consider a pen hitting the ground as truth? The pragmatic theory of truth states that if something is useful for oneself- it is true. For example, each person measures “useful” in own point of view. Some want to have many friends or be happy, others think that being wealthy the most important; therefore, their actions are guided by it. It means that their belief in this useful means the
