The purpose of government’s that I research was promote rule of law, prepare for common defense, Support the economic system, provide public service, and protect rights. All of these met the common good by supporting the government and protecting the Roman citizens. Promote Rule of law met the common good because the Romans made the twelve tables. The Twelve Table are a set of laws. Those laws were called the Twelve Tables because there were twelve different sections. The Roman Republic made the twelve tables so that everyone would know what the laws were. In addition, the laws would apply to every citizen even the rich or poor. The crops that the Roman farmers made was grains, olives, and grapes. Olive oil and wine were one of the most important products in Ancient Rome. Crop production was very low output but a big number of slaves to operate it. Also Most people were farmers in Ancient Rome. But some farmers were slaves when they were working in the farm. The farmers paid their taxes mostly in money or food. The Farmers used the money to buy clothes and furniture and tools. If they didn’t have slavery then Rome will not get enough houses or buildings to live in. Slavery was a very large part of Ancient Rome, Which was normal for the Roman society. The slaves did all the work that the Romans did not want to do.The slaves don’t get citizenship, Even if the the slave was a freedmen. Also if the freedman has children the they have full citizenship but the slave still doesn’t have citizenship. There was a small amount of patricians in the Roman population.
