Towards the end of WWII Germany was split into two sides. One side was controlled by the US and the other was controlled by the Soviet Union. As the conflict between this two countries led to the Cold War. Russia didn't supply the us with food; they supplied food to the soviet union, but the us was able to get food by flying over food with aircrafts until the problem was resolved.
