The unbreakable bond is about two basketball players that becomes more the just teams. They became brothers. They became family. They became something special between a white man and a black man. At first, they were just people that were on the same team together and that they were friend. That all change because of one game and one plane ride back home. After he came back, he got up and returned to the game to finish it out. Now getting to the flight that was book for the team to go home something unexpected happened. He had his arms around two other players he collapse. He became deathly sick. He was unconscious and was sent to the hospital. He was unconscious for about a day and when he woke up he was paralyze from the neck down. Stokes would be supported by his lifelong friend and teammate Jack Twyman. After talking to his wife and knowing that Maurice had no one else, Jack became that someone for him. Jack took care of Maurice after that day. Knowing that he couldn’t pay for the bills. Jack Twyman organized a charity exhibition basketball game in 1958 to help raise funds for Stokes' medical expenses. That game, spearheaded by Milton Kutsher, it became an annual tradition and was named the Maurice Stokes Memorial Basketball Game. They earn enough for the bills. Maurice had an incredible life. Before he died, he celebrated his birthday in a way he never imagine. He was surprised by the president of Saint Francis College and ask if the new athletics center can be named after himself and he said yes. Jack was somewhat like a father to Maurice. He was there when he needed it. Jack never wanted Maurice to give up. And Jack did everything he could for Maurice just like what Dick Hoyt did for his son Rick. Rick Hoyt was born January 10, 1962 from Holland, Massachusetts. Rick Hoyt was diagnosed with cerebral palsy cause from birth after his umbilical cord became twisted around his neck. As a result, he wouldn’t be able to walk or talk properly. His brain cannot send the correct messages to his muscles. Many doctors encouraged the Hoyts to institutionalize Rick, informing them that he would be nothing more than a "vegetable." However, they still wanted everyone to treat him like a normal kid so he can a have a normal life. They wanted everyone to treat him like a normal child. Every time he went to his doctors his parents told the doctor to make him feel like any other
