Knowledge in this world is ever lasting. This course has made me acknowledge that there is no end to gaining knowledge in our world. There are so many different cultures and beliefs, which I have learned through this course that my eyes have opened even more about this mysterious planet of ours.
I was always interested in knowing different myths, cultures, rituals, beliefs and taboo’s. Of which many I wasn’t aware of before this course. The article “The woman who didn’t become a shaman” by Margery Wolf was one of the more interesting articles I enjoyed reading. But the surprising element was although witchcraft is used for evil purposes but the effect of people believing in witchcraft had an overall positive effect on society as people more humble, helpful and respectful to each other.
One has to be always thankful for what we have ,as there are many in this world that don’t even have one percent of what we have in our lives. The Cargo Cults showed the disparity of how humans live around the world. I believe in that all humans should have access to all basic facilities provided by the State or a larger community. Every person should have equal opportunities in life no matter what culture or belief one follows. This course helped me to understand how Anthropology is such a diverse field and how important it is in understanding human cultures and society in general. Looking ahead I would want to socialize more with people of different cultural backgrounds, so I can learn more about them and also help people to understand more about my own culture. As the world is headed towards globalization, everyone has to be a global citizen no matter the choice. But Anthropology helps us to understand that we should always respect people of different sects and cultures. We should always strive for developing better communities where our children can grow without any discrimination. I as a person have thought to make people smile more and help anyone that I can. This course has been a positive learning experience, which isn’t the case in every
