The World is Made Up of Stories not Atoms.
Truly believing that the universe is composed of only atoms and nothing more is quite the nihilist attitude. I believe that although the universe contains atoms our stories and experiences give it meaning. The story is inessential compared to how it is told. In science, we never learn about Marie Curie without learning about how women struggled during that time period. We always hear about how she died working with radioactive radium. We hear these details because these make the story compelling. I hope that someday I became consequential and notable enough to be taught to children and when I do, I hope that my story is compelling and inspirational.

My love of science started in Kindergarten. I remember how my favorite book was about magnets. But at that age I didn't understand the science behind magnetism. I simply liked the book because when the iron fillings got close to the bar magnet, to a six year old the filing looked like a mustache which at the time I found riotous. Despite not knowing a clue about the science of magnetism, or the forces of nature I was hooked on the book and I began to read more and more magnetism-related book or at least more science related books. A small act such as reading a book can be key to anyone becoming passionate about anything. …show more content…

Our teacher told us about the basic states of matter: solid, liquid, gas. Then she told us that there was one more state of matter but she would't teach it to us because we were still so young. I took it upon myself to learn the name of that state of matter; I found out that the name of that state was plasma. I also found out that there were other states of matter such as the Bose-Einstein
