Who is speaking to whom? • Charlotte Perkins Gilman in “The Yellow Wallpaper” writes her own story. In this story writer seems to speak with herself, her doctor as well as husband, John and few times with Jennie. • John Keats in “Ode to a Nightingale” writer speaks to himself and Nightingale. • “The Nymph’s Reply to the Shepherd” gives the crystal-clear view that Sir Walter Raleigh is replying to the shepherd. What situation is being described? • The Yellow Wallpaper is a part of biography of the author in which she describes her mental illness after the birth of her child. She is supposed to stay away from the society to recover herself. She is now living in a rented house, which she thinks was a play way for small children before. Here
