The Hunger Games is a novel written by Suzanne Collins. Originally published by Scholastic Press in September 14,2008. The theme is two young couple fighting for there lives. The main characters are Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark, and Cato. katniss Everdeen is a 16 year old girl who volunteered to play the hunger games instead of her little sister who was chosen to play the games. Katniss Everdeen thinks that the hunger games shouldn’t exist because of the violence and all the bad things that happen during the games. Peeta Mellark who comes from district 12 was chosen to be a part of the hunger games. Cato is the chosen one from district 2 and is the leader for the career pack and he is Katniss fiercest rival. While training is in progress katniss and peeta have been asked by Haymitch if they wanted to train together and both of them accepted. In training Katniss is observing every one practicing different skills to be prepared and have an idea of everyone’s strengths. Peeta and Katniss have gone to a station were they learn different types of knots that they may need during the games. Katniss is the last one to take her private session with the game makers which she totally impress. The games have begun that morning she was taken to a underground room were she was dressed and was placed a tracker on her. When they are ready to start the game they have to wait some seconds before they can leave the platform. There are boxes with weapons near the platforms and every one will try to run towards them but Katniss remembered that Haymitch told her to run away from their and find water to survive. During the games cannon shots are heard and that means that some one have died. In the night they put the images of the people who died the first day and sees that Peeta is still alive.
