In my opinion, Macbeth is a play of contradiction and desire. Headed to be King, Macbeth will slaughter all and any that get in his direction. He puts his confidence in the words and predictions of three witches, after their initial one, that he will get to be Thane of Cawdor comes through. Macbeth's wife, Lady Macbeth, is instrumental in Macbeth's aspiration, egging him on when he fears he has gone to far, and plotting of significance. An example of his murders are King Duncan and Banquo which he killed out of power and suspicion. But soon he realised, he coudn’t bear with himself, and finds it hard to sleep at night due to paranoia. This shows me that violence only leads to more violence.

When Banquo asked them to predct his future, they told him that he will father a king. Both men seamed suspicios but soon after Macbeth was hailed as Thane of Cawdor, due to the death of the past Thane. After having told lady macbeth about the weird occurrence, she then manipulated Macbeth to murder King Duncan in his sleep when he comes to his castle, to become king. After the murder, Macbeth was named king but brought suspicion upon him by Banquo. Fufilling the predictions made by the witches, he feared that his reign as king will end as busquo was going to father a king. With beign power hungry and to minimise the suspicion brought upon him, he ordered two murderes to murder both Busquo and his son, Fleance. Fleance got away but his father didn’t. The witches then told Macbeth to fear Macduff and told him no man born by a women can hurt him. He then ordered the murder of Macduff and his family but Macduff fleed to England. When Macduff heared about the masacure of his family, he vowed to kill Macbeth. He then made an army with Malcolm. Before the battle, Macbeth recieved news that his wife died. Macduff sucessfuly killed Macbeth in battle as he was not conceived by a women and Malcolm was named the new King of Scotland.
The play took place during the 1600’s in midevil Scotland. The main characters are Macbeth, Banquo and Macduff.
