Theme Of Perseverance In Heart Of A Champion And Mae Jemison

There are two stories called Michelle Kwan: Heart of a Champion and Mae Jemison: Space Scientist. Michelle Kwan is about a young skater fighting her way to the top. She always faces some tough challenges and heartbreaking decisions. Mae Jemison By: Gail Sakurai is about a African- American girl who has to fight for her rights. She also becomes the First African- American women in space. These two stories have some similarities and some differences. Some similarities are they share the same theme of perseverance and Michelle and Mae in my mind are both excellent role models. Some differences are the genre and the time period these ladies lived in.

One fact is " To compete with Tonyas Harding the only american women who could do a triple axel." One opinion is" Frank was the best coach ever! "However, In Mae Jemisonit is the complete opposite. Mae jemison is a biography which means you will only find facts and correct language. You are probably wondering why would Michelle Kwan use informal language in a book. She uses informal language so the book can relate more to kids. Another reason they are different is the time ;period and how people thought about them. In Michelle Kwan it was the 1980's and the world was a lot more free. Everybody encouraged Michelle no matter what. But, In Mae Jemison in different.
