The characters Achilles, Hector, and Paris in The Iliad retain comparable personalities. Although the characters differ each other in more ways than resemble, the dense trait of pride ties them together. Pride is an important concept to recognize in order to develop a perception on each character throughout the story. Hector upholds strong senses of bravery, compassion, and leadership. He is the son of the King and Queen of Troy, and a supreme warrior. At the end of book 6, Hector expresses love and admiration to his wife and son by consoling them and speaking kind words.
